The management of the Surrey Hills AONB follows a plan that is reviewed at least every 5 years. A new plan is being drawn up by the Surrey Hills Board to start in 2009.

The aim of the Management Plan is to ensure that the natural beauty, special character and the vitality of local communities in the Surrey Hills are recognised, maintained and strengthened.
