Mole Valley District Council is undertaking a consultation stage for the new Local Development Framework.
Although many of us have opinions about how any framework might actually be followed or overidden in 'special cases' (what's the point in having a framework if it can be overriden by any special case?), at least they are asking, and if you don't tell them your opinion they of course definitely won't know it and won't take account of it at all.
They are explicitly asking the question 'What can be done to reduce the impact of activity in Mole Valley on climate change?' and 'In particular the Council is asking whether it should be taking a proactive or reactive approach to reducing and adapting to climate change?'
Of course we at The Green Mole Forum want them to take a proactive approach - there's simply not enough time to take the luxury of a reactive approach if we are going to have any chance of fending off damage to the environment and our quality of life.
